MASON CITY, IA – The Midwest College Hockey conference has named UMary’s Dain Sardelli, Matt Scribner, and Jamestown’s Raymond Warrack the top Three Stars of the Week for October 27th.
Dain Sardelli played the hero Saturday afternoon for UMary as he scored the game-winning goal 1:13 into overtime to give the Marauders a 5-4 win, completing a 5-goal comeback. Sardelli scored two goals and added an assist to help the Marauders complete a series sweep over the Warriors.
Defenseman Matt Scribner also played a major role in Saturday’s win, providing assists on the first two Marauders goals, and later scoring the game-tying goal with just 2:04 remaining in the third period to push the game into overtime. Scribner and his fellow defensive unit also shut down the Warriors attack for the most part on Friday night helping Caleb Cross and UMary pick up a 4-1 win to open the series.
Raymond Warrack set the tone early in Jamestown’s 8-0 routing of Iowa State on Saturday. Warrack opened the scoring with the first goal 10:50 into the first, and the game’s second just 4:09 into period two. Warrack added an assist in both games against the Cyclones to stand out with 4 total points in the Jimmies’ weekend sweep.
