MINOT STATE UNIVERSITY PICKED TO FINISH FIRST IN 2025-2026 MCH PRESEASON COACHES’ POLL

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA (Sept. 24, 2025) – Minot State University has been selected by the Midwest College Hockey coaches as the preseason favorite to win the MCH in the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

Minot State received five of seven first-place votes from MCH coaches to finish atop the MCH and received 47 of 49 possible points.  The Beavers are the reigning MCH Regular-Season Champions and MCH Playoff Champions, having claimed both titles in the 2024-2025 season.

The University of Jamestown received the other two first-place votes from MCH coaches and was slotted in at second place in the poll with 43 points.  The University of Mary finished in third place in the poll with 32 points.  Midland University received 30 points to land in the fourth slot in the poll while McKendree University finished in fifth place in the poll with 20 points.  Waldorf University came in sixth place in the poll with 15 points, while Iowa State University rounded out the poll in seventh place with 11 points.

All seven MCH teams will compete in the MCH Conference Playoffs, which will be hosted by Waldorf University and held at the Albert Lea City Arena in Albert Lea, Minnesota, on February 20-22, 2026.

The winner of the MCH Conference Playoffs will hoist the Lindsay Cup as MCH Playoff Champion and receive the MCH’s autobid to the 2026 ACHA Men’s Division 1 National Championships presented by FloHockey, held on March 12-17, 2026 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
